Here's the
latest news!
UPDATE:
2/23/10
I had the surgery as scheduled and it turned out to be a benign
Pseudotumor! Thank you to everyone who said prayers for me and my
family during these past 6 months. There were so many wonderful
messages left on my Caring Bridge site, that will soon be converted
over to this Spirit Lyric website for everyone to see. Many
people
believe a miracle occured in my case. It's not every day that a
place
like the Mayo Clinic gives a misdiagnoses of Pancreatic Cancer from an
acutal biopsy.
For those of you coming to this page for the first time, you can go to
the Caring Bridge
website that was set up for me last August.
I'm still recovering from the surgery and am on a feeding pump through
a feeding tube in my abdomen, for 12 hours a day, but I am expected to
completely heal.
Judy Guggenheim is still handling all orders for now, so if you need to
contact her, please
direct all inquiries to: Orders@SpiritLyric.com |
I'm
very sorry to say that on Thursday, August 13th, 2009, I was diagnosed
with pancreatic cancer by the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL. I
will be having surgery within the next few weeks, a procedure called
The Whipple.
If you have placed an order between August 13th and now, please be
aware that your order may be delayed - but will be filled. Please
direct all order inquiries to Judith Guggenheim: Orders@SpiritLyric.com
I do not know what the outcome will be from this, but as everyone
knows, pancreatic cancer is not a good diagnosis regardless of the
"stage." I have been diagnosed at Stage 2 (T2N0). Though I
have received a dreaded diagnosis at age 37, my personal beliefs, which
I share with you through this website, remain stronger than ever.
I do not fear death because I know I will be going to a place where I
am supposed to go, at "my" time. I will not be going anywhere
that you will not be one day, yourself.
I know those of you who come to this website have deeply hurting hearts
because you have lost someone you love. What I can tell you with
100% certainty is that the hardest part of facing death is knowing how
sad those who love me will be when I go. I don't want that for
them. I want them to continue living their lives, doing things
that make them happy. Always do things that make you happy
because you
are still here for a reason.
With love,
Katherine J. Cochran
